WILDERNESS TO TABLE: CELEBRATING THE HUNT WITH BRI VAN SCOTTER

To say Bri Van Scotter is a badass woman is a bit of an understatement. Whether you spot her out on a hunt, freediving in the Pacific or prepping her harvest in the kitchen - you always know she is exactly where she wants to be.

The professionally trained chef turned sustainable hunter shares her knowledge and passion for the great outdoors, travel and culinary arts through her blog and television series, Wilderness to Table.

Bri makes you rethink who a professional hunter and chef can be. She is a modern day renaissance woman - the type of woman we love to have a drink with.

Earlier this year, we had the privilege of celebrating around the table with Bri and her loved ones following her elk hunt. As a true whiskey woman, Bri went beyond sipping on our Rock & Rye and used our original recipe to enhance the meal with a Slow & Low whiskey glaze and whiskey onion rings. You can check-out her full blog post including her recipe for Slow & Low Whiskey Glazed Elk Burgers, here.

Get to know more about Bri in our exclusive Straight-Up interview below.

Q: What is it that draws you to the outdoors?

A: Its beauty! It’s much more beautiful to discover it first hand rather than from a screen. All my best memories are from traveling and being outdoors! Being outdoors just makes me feel better!

Q: You received an all-expense paid trip and you fly out tomorrow - where are you going and why?

A: My goodness it’s hard for me to choose actually... at this very moment I would got to Norway to Free Dive with Orcas! It’s a super cold dive and I'd like to put myself to the test and having the chance to swim with wild Orcas is just hands down amazing! Plus I would get the chance to see the Northern Lights!

Q: If your life had a theme song, what would it be?

A: Ahhhh...... right now its Cake by the Ocean by DNCE (Cake and the Ocean are literally my most favorite things). And my classic theme song Do It Again by Steely Dan

A: Slow & Low

A: Diving with Great Whites in South Africa!

Q: The road less traveled or the path of least resistance?

A: Definitely the road less traveled, know one became extraordinary by taking the easy way!
